Functional Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
- Develop digital design for assets, mainly for social media channels
- Develop layouts and graphic design for office documents and publications;
- Presenting ideas and concepts depending on the design assignment requested.
- Producing clear, concise and vivid materials that convey key messages to target audiences.
- Provide Ad-hoc digital/social ads, and ad-hoc design for print as needed
- Edit and/or improve photos, charts and other graphic elements as required.
- Establishing and maintaining an archive of a graphic works library including establishing guidelines on naming and filing imagery.
- Preparing final edited imagery for web-based communications.
- Support the in-house creative process by participating in touchpoints and feedback sessions; Act as a collaborator and thought partner for the programme through on-going collaboration and providing guidance on the latest developments in the context of graphic design and illustration.
Education/Experience/Language requirements:
Education:
- A Master’s degree preferably in advocacy, communication, international relations, journalism, law, international development, public administration, public health, social science, graphic design or another relevant field is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree will be accepted with an additional 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience:
Required
- A minimum of 2 years of Graphic Design experience in partnerships, international development cooperation, INGOs, operations, consulting, external relations or public affairs.
- Experience in social media creative, and animation and proficient with Adobe Creative, Cloud software, particularly After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Google Slides/Powerpoint.
Desired
- Experience working in public health, especially on malaria, is desirable.
- Knowledge of print media is an asset
- A strong knowledge of 3D software or video editing is also desirable.
Language:
- Full working knowledge of English is essential.
- Working knowledge of French or another official UNOPS language is an asset.
