Assistant Manager at Dangote Group

Description

  • Ensure safe work procedures and aware of safety hazards in all activities in the department towards achievement of Zero Accident.
  • Understand the working principles and criticality of equipment also the components of equipment and its functions.
  • Carry out first level and specific inspection of all plant equipment in all conditions (stoppage, running) to maximise equipment operation and minimize downtime. Formalize inspection reports and send to concern departments for information and necessary actions.
  • Generate maintenance requests for all tasks identified in the inspection route and brings to the attention of the maintenance department.
  • To do predictive maintenance activities with various gadgets available, analyse and report to all concerned end users for necessary corrective actions.
  • Measure and monitor equipment conditions, analyse trends and identify the needs for maintenance interventions. Prevent failure of equipment using all possible information and data available from vibration, temperature and wear readings.
  • Identify short medium and long-term action plans and maintenance strategies for equipment.  Preparation of jobs for shutdown works.
  • Co-ordinate with production and other maintenance functions on equipment conditions, equipment availability for maintenance interventions.
  • To do downtime entries in ADAP and involve WRM activities to ensure reliability in his area of working. Performs follow-up inspection of new installations or repaired equipment’s and verifies tolerances in critical issues to assure compliance to acceptance standards.
  • Take responsibility for compliance to QMS, EMS and OSHAS standards. Undertake any other duties as appropriate within his competence, as required by his superiors / Head of department from time to time.

Specific Targets: 

  • Achieve reliability of KILNS and its auxiliary equipment’s >95%.
  • Execute field inspection, generate report and send through mail to end users.
  • Measure vibration on identified equipment’s in Ibese plant, generate notifications, work order and ensure corrective action to maintain vibration level with limit.
  • Oil analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • B.Eng. or HND diploma in Mechanical Engineering + 12 years working experience, (preferably in cement industry).
  • Computer literate for windows, word, excel and PowerPoint programs.
  • Knowledge of cement manufacturing process.
  • Knowledge of Cement plant equipment’s and it operations.
  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
  • Conversant in reading engineering drawings.
  • Good communication skill.

Job Summary:

  • To execute Audit plan according to professional standards and communicate all relevant findings especially critical or potentially significant ones.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyse financial statements and document insights/finding / recommendations
